QR Code/Barcode Scanner

This article explains the Code Scanner block that can be added as a block to design an app.

Used For

  1. Scanning QR Codes/Barcodes from any place and entering into a form
  2. No-touch attendance systems

Editing the block

Click on the block and start editing on the panel that appears on the right side.

Label

This is what appears as the name of the input block to the end-user.

Description

This is the text that goes below the input block to help the user.

Manual editing of the code

By default, the users can modify or input the values of the codes. This becomes important when the codes are not scannable or distorted. If you don’t want the users to modify the codes that are scanned by the camera, turn off the option “Allow user to input manually”.

Pull details from other Clappia app

If you have uploaded some details associated with the scanned codes in another Clappia App, you can pull those details here to show to the user who is scanning the codes. For example, on scanning, the user might get a Product Code and if other details like Product Name, Category are uploaded along with the Code in another Master App, then we can show these details to the user.

Data Source App

This option shows if we have turned ON the Pull details from other Clappia app. Select another app from your Workplace which contains the data associated with the QR/Bar code text.

Selection Field

This option shows if we have turned ON the Pull details from other Clappia app. This should be the field in the other Clappia App which exactly matches with the scanned code.

Pulled Fields

This option shows if we have turned ON the Pull details from other Clappia app. Here we can choose which all fields to pull from the other Clappia app to show to the user who is scanning the codes.

Required

Tick this option if you want the user to compulsorily scan the code and provide some value.
